The AFPA (Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association) is the longest established and largest regulatory body for the practice of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Ireland. It has been representing acupuncturists since 1987. As a member of AFPA I comply with their codes of ethics and best practice and I carry full insurance. All members adhere to the guidelines the Department of Health and Children report of 2006 has recommended in the practice of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

I own and run Ballinrobe Acupuncture Clinic which is located on the Clonbur Road, Ballinrobe. I received my Bachelor of Science from University College Galway (NUIG) in 1996. I then worked in the computer industry for a number of years. I was always very interested in complementary medicine but in particular acupuncture. I received my Licentiate in Acupuncture in 2009 after successfully completing 3 years of study.

I partook in a postgraduate course in clinical practice at Nanjing University, China. I worked in three of the affiliated hospitals under the guidance of expert chinese doctors. I saw just how acupuncture is used in the Chinese hospitals and this was an invaluable experience.
