Generally, people find an acupuncture treatment to be a relaxing experience. When administered by a skilled professional it should not hurt. Unlike hypodermic needles, acupuncture needles are solid and hair-thin – not designed to cut the skin. The insertion feels like a tug on a body hair. After the needle is inserted their may be a feeling of tingling, a sensation of something moving, a warm feeling, etc. It is a sensation that is difficult to explain but it is not an unpleasant feeling.
